Insight Matters Inc. Receives $40,235 Grant to Expand Substance Use Prevention Programs

Insight Matters Inc. is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $40,235 grant from the Idaho Office of Drug Policy's Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, & Recovery Services Block Grant (SUPTRS BG). This funding will support the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide critical substance misuse prevention services to the residents of Region III during Idaho’s Fiscal Year 2025.

The grant enables Insight Matters Inc. to further its mission of improving the mental and behavioral health of the community by expanding prevention-focused programs that reach both youth and adults. Specifically, the funding will help implement programs such as "This Is Not About Drugs" (TINAD), AlcoholEDU, Strengthening Families, and various community-based information dissemination initiatives aimed at promoting healthy decision-making and preventing substance misuse.

“We are honored to receive this grant and continue our work to create a safer and healthier community,” said Dr. Becky Wolery, President of Insight Matters Inc. “This funding is essential for bringing effective, evidence-based prevention education to local schools and community events, reaching populations that may otherwise lack access to these resources.”

With the awarded funds, Insight Matters Inc. plans to pilot the TINAD program in multiple school districts, provide EVERFI prescription drug education in schools, and deliver the Strengthening Families program to parents and youth in Payette County. In addition, the organization will conduct public outreach and educational activities at community events, raising awareness of the risks of substance misuse and offering prevention resources.

This grant reaffirms Insight Matters Inc.’s dedication to fostering positive change in the Four Rivers rural communities through education and prevention services that empower individuals to make healthier choices and create lasting impact.
